A "hair raising" couple of days...

I put extensions in Hailey's hair for the first time (without Judy's help even!).
They turned out so cute! Hailey loves her "princess hair".

On the flip side...

Krista decided to cut her own hair at school today. When the teacher saw the pile of hair and said "Oh Krista, that is naughty you should never cut your hair". Krista looked up at her with a smug smile and said (in a very snotty tone) "My Mom wants me to get a haircut, so I can cut it myself". In actuality, I was remarking the other day about how glad I was that Krista's hair was finally getting long so that I can do fun things with it. We have had to keep it short for a while because she would pull her hair out and eat it. "Sigh"... it never ends. The good news! picture day was last week so I did her hair in very cute pony tails curled into ringlets.
Ahhh, last week, those were the "good ol' days"
Before...
This picture really doesn't do justice to the "carnage" created :0) After... Krista is giving me the "death stare" because I cut her hair short. I can't get her to understand that if she hadn't cut her hair first, then I wouldn't have had to cut it. "Sigh"...again.

The tests are all in...

OK, So we found out last week that Andrew has "Mononucleosis", that is what the problem was. It makes so much sense! He was so exhausted by the rigorous schedule at the MTC that he would get to his next class and just want to curl up in a ball and cry. They thought that there was something "psychologically" wrong with him. This diagnosis explains A LOT! Well... The Dr. said if anyone else is having symptoms to come in to get tested. When I looked up the symptoms of Mono in my medical book I thought Uh Oh, I think that I had these symptoms first. So, I was tested last week. The Dr. called this evening and told me that I have a "full blown active case of Mono, again. Again?! I didn't know that I had ever had it. Apparently, I have and it is back, in full force. I just thought that I was getting old and tired :0), Even the Dr. said last week that he "doubts very seriously that I have Mono". I told him that I have never had the chicken pox, why not Mono? He couldn't believe that I had never had chicken pox so he tested me for that as well, it turns out that I have a natural immunity to chicken pox. Lucky me, I wish that I had a "natural immunity" to Mono. I have never been this exhausted in my life! Anyway, Andrew is a lot closer to "recovery" than I am (even though I had it first), Oh to be young again... Even though once you have Mono you always have it (it is the Epstein-Barr Virus). It can be "active or dormant" at different times in your life. We will have to wait and see what this means for Andrew, as far as serving his mission in the Dominican Republic. He may need to be re-assigned to a mission here in the states, we'll see. Until then, all we can do is rest, rest, rest (very easy for the Dr. to say, he needs to come here to do laundry and clean my house for me :0)

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Ready to go! Cody Joe - 6th Grade Zach - 3rd Grade Tia - 1st Grade
Krista - Kindergarten
Yeah! The first day of school has come at last! The kids are always so excited to go back to school, this year was no exception. Cody Joe, Zach and Tia started on Wednesday August 19th; then Krista started on August 26th. I got a call from the principal the day before Krista started school "inviting Krista to attend extended day Kindergarten", so she goes to school all day as well. All of the kids have fabulous teachers so everyone is very happy Zachary got the 3rd grade teacher that he "prayed for all summer and had a dream that he got her for his teacher", too cute! Cody Joe had the same 3rd grade teacher as well so we know how wonderful she is. Zachary was diagnosed with ADD during the summer, after having all of the evaluations done at the end of last school year. He has started on medication and is doing really well! His Dr. put him on an ADD med that is not a "stimulant" (i.e.- Ritalin, Adderall...). Zach is doing very well, because he is so much less overwhelmed with everything. The year is off to a great start for everyone except poor Tia, who quite possibly has the worst bus driver in the school district. One day, Tia was left at school (her teacher was nice enough to bring her home) because the driver told her teacher that I would be picking her up for a Dr.'s appointment after school (Which was not the case, and I definitely didn't tell the driver that). Today, she didn't bother to even pick Tia up for school! She has forgotten to pick Tia up several times over the past 2 years and when we don't come running out to get her from the bus in the afternoon (because we don't hear it right away or I am changing a diaper or something). She has left Tia on the walkway in front of our steps once and left her on the driveway after banging her fist on our garage door the other time. Neither time did she even bother to set Tia's wheelchair brakes, she just left her at the top of the driveway and was getting in the bus to drive away when I got outside. This woman definitely needs a new job! Transporting severely disabled children is obviously not "her cup of tea". I addressed the issue with the principal last year, he told her that I "complained" about her and she refused to speak or look at me for almost 2 months. Sigh, the situation makes me tired.

Hailey's "Photo Shoot"

Miss Attitude
Hailey is, quite begrudgingly, saying "cheese" for me again
Peek-a-Boo!
I took Hailey up to the Provo Temple to take her 3 year old pictures...whew! It is hard to get her to stay still long enough for the slight delay on a digital camera. "Miss Busy" smiles and says "cheese" then it is instantly over, if you didn't catch it then "too bad for you" :0)
I did manage to get some cute pictures, of course she is a very cute subject :0).

Hailey Boop turns 3!

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl! Hailey's personalized plate (she is saying "cute!":0)
So Fancy! "Inchworm... Inchworm..."
"Loo-Loo-Lee who is 3!"
Ready to party!
Hailey celebrated her 3rd birthday on August 14th.
I can't believe how fast time flies!
Happy Birthday to Miss "Loo-Loo who is no longer 2!"
